Phone Check privacy policy

How Phone Check handles local records, permissions and files you choose to share.

Last updated 8 October 2026

Phone Check is published by Hypercent Games. For support or privacy questions, contact hello@hypercentgames.com. Our website is https://hypercentgames.com.

Phone Check guides checks of Android phones, displays public hardware information, records charging studies and creates condition reports. It does not require an account. It has no advertisements, analytics SDK, AI service or diagnostic cloud upload. The paid download includes all app features; there is no in-app purchase or publisher purchase-verification server.

Information stored on your phone

Diagnostic observations, public device specifications, sensor and battery measurements, timestamps, local report history, imported reports and optional notes are stored in the app's private local database. Workshop branding includes only the name, logo and job reference you choose. A random installation reference distinguishes source installations; it is not an IMEI, serial number or verified identity of a physical phone.

Buyer plans contain your manual checklist states, custom inspection prompts, notes, entered prices and costs, decision, linked report and optional reminder dates. These stay local and are not included in .phonecheck result transfers. Avoid entering passwords, identity numbers or other sensitive account details.

The hardware-information screen reads fields exposed by Android and, where accessible, public operating-system hardware files. Copying or sharing its technical summary is an explicit action you choose. The summary excludes account information, IMEI, serial numbers, network identifiers and precise location.

Permissions and temporary test media

Camera and microphone access are requested for their respective tests. Photos and recordings made during tests are temporary; the app deletes them after use and releases camera, microphone and sensor resources when the test ends. Test photographs and recordings are not included in result transfers or PDF reports.

Location permission is used for the GPS test. It is not used for advertising or background location tracking. Coordinates are not included in exported reports or result transfers. Bluetooth permissions support nearby-device and accessory checks; NFC access supports a tag check. Phone-state permission supports basic SIM/service readings. The app does not request contacts, an advertising identifier, SMS messages or call logs, and does not export subscriber identifiers.

Declining a permission leaves the relevant check blocked or incomplete; it does not create a successful result. Biometric testing uses Android's authentication prompt. Phone Check does not obtain fingerprint images, facial templates or other biometric credentials.

Charging studies and reminders

Charging studies start only when you choose to start one. App-open recording stores supported battery readings locally. Optional screen-off recording defaults off and uses an ongoing notification with Stop. A study ends when stopped, unplugged, full, interrupted by the system or after its time limit. There is no background location recording.

Buyer follow-up notifications require notification permission. An approximate, persisted Android job allows explicitly scheduled reminders to survive a reboot; the boot permission does not restart battery recording. Notifications use generic follow-up wording rather than private notes or prices. Android may delay or suppress notifications; overdue reminders remain visible in the buyer workspace.

Optional internet check

The Wi-Fi test offers an optional internet probe. If you choose it, the app connects to Google's HTTPS connectivity endpoint, https://connectivitycheck.gstatic.com/generate_204, using the selected Wi-Fi network. The app warns that binding to that network may bypass a VPN. Google receives the connection's IP address and ordinary request metadata under its own privacy practices. Phone Check does not send diagnostic reports, notes, GPS readings, installation references or battery samples with this request. Response status and duration may be recorded locally as test evidence.

Files and summaries you choose to share

You can save a result transfer or PDF through Android's file picker, or share a file or technical summary with another app. Transfers can contain diagnostic observations, public source-device details, timestamps, optional report notes and included battery samples. PDFs can also include your chosen workshop branding and annotations. Imported source results remain labeled unverified and separate from recipient annotations.

Buyer-summary sharing excludes private notes and costs unless you explicitly select their inclusion. Preview exported information before sharing. The recipient app or destination, including a cloud provider you select, handles the exported copy under its own privacy practices. Phone Check does not automatically upload these copies. Deleting a local record does not delete copies you have already exported or shared.

Paid download

Google Play handles the purchase, payment records, download, refund and any Play distribution protection under Google's policies. Phone Check does not receive your payment-card details or operate a payment backend. The app does not include the Google Play Billing library or a second in-app checkout. Google Play's own services can process account and transaction information independently of the app.

Retention, deletion and security

Local records remain until you delete them or remove app storage. You can delete saved sessions, studies and buyer plans in the app. Deleting a plan removes its local checklist, notes and reminders while keeping linked diagnostic reports. Deleting a report removes its recipient annotations locally. You can remove workshop branding in its settings.

Android's Clear storage or uninstall removes the app's private records and settings. Exported files remain wherever you saved them. There is no Phone Check account to delete and no publisher diagnostic database to request deletion from. Android backup is disabled for the app, with cloud and device-transfer exclusions; device manufacturers control their separate migration tools.

Network requests use HTTPS. Android's application sandbox protects local storage. Files you choose to export are accessible to their selected destination; do not share them publicly if they contain private notes.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy when the app's data handling changes and revise its date. Contact hello@hypercentgames.com with the subject “Phone Check privacy” for questions. Please do not send passwords, identity documents or complete private diagnostic files unless they are needed for a support issue and you choose to share them.
